"Disgust" -- Performance Text
For the aptly named Performance Text class, I spent a number of weeks writing a creative short story, and then the following weeks producing an interactive print piece. The main piece, a mirror, was designed with visual references to ornate alcohol packaging.
Excerpt
I kicked caked mud off of the boat, and sat down. I rowed and rowed until I could see the top of the hill and nothing of my flailing liaison. I rocked back and forth. The water hummed with mosquitoes. Swaying and gripping the paddles, I noticed my stench of alcohol and sweat and day-old cologne. I looked down at the filth under my nails and the bulging veins of my hands. Sighing, I leaned over the edge of my creaking vessel and vomited into the red-rimmed eyes of my reflection.
